About The Position

Blue Ridge Unified School District is seeking a Computer Technician for a summer temporary position. This entry-level role focuses on providing frontline technical support for district staff and students. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, a helpful and positive attitude, and a genuine curiosity about technology. This position involves troubleshooting basic technology issues, supporting district devices and systems, and working under the guidance of senior IT staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic knowledge of computer operations required.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a helpful and positive attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to listen, understand, and respond to user needs effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems, operating systems, and common applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a logical manner.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of customer service experience or related field preferred.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license may be required.
  • Coursework, certification, or training in information technology.
  • Experience in a school district or educational environment.
  • Familiarity with help desk or ticketing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support for district hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Respond to service requests via help desk system, phone, and in person.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic issues involving computers, printers, Chromebooks, and other district devices.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Set up and support classroom and office technology equipment.
  • Assist with user account setup, password resets, and access issues.
  • Document all support requests, actions taken, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
  • Escalate more complex issues to higher-level technical staff as needed.
  • Assist with inventory management and tracking of technology equipment.
  • Travel between district sites as needed to provide support.
  • Follow district policies related to data security, acceptable use, and technology standards.
