About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Client Services, the computer technician is primarily responsible for installing, upgrading, configuring, and troubleshooting computers, peripherals, and software.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Computer Science or a related field with emphasis in hardware and networking OR two years’ work experience and CompTIA A+ certification.
• A minimum of two years of work experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing computers, computer peripherals, computer network equipment and cabling, and software.
• Work experience to include wireless technology, multimedia technology, virus and anti-spam protection techniques, Microsoft Office 365, latest versions of Microsoft Windows and MAC operating systems, and desktop and laptop computers.
• MS Office skills, Word, Excel, Outlook; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems
• Ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, staff and the general public

• Working knowledge of current AI technologies and tools, including generative AI, with the ability to use these technologies securely and in accordance with organizational data protection and other institutional policies.

Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, configure, troubleshoot, and repair computers, peripherals, and software applications
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair networked and locally connected printers and scanners
• Assist with inventory of printer supplies, toner, and related consumables
• Assist with inventory of laptops and mobile device checkout for faculty, staff, and students.
• Assist with the checkout, return, and tracking of laptops and mobile devices for faculty, staff, and students
• Assist with installation, upgrade, and maintenance of computer network equipment and software
• Assist end-users with technology issues
