About The Position

This position is for a Variable Hour Employee - Computer Field Technician. The role involves traveling across the Michigan University Campus to various client sites for device installation, de-installation, and general setup. Responsibilities include commuting to different locations on campus, imaging SCCM in the Customer staging area, installation and de-installation of PC Computers, intermediate use of Microsoft EXCEL, data migration via USMT as needed, and updating the customer ticketing system. The work days are Monday through Friday, with a shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, including a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks. A valid State Driver’s License, minimum state auto insurance on your vehicle, and a good driving record over the last 3 years (2 or less traffic violations) are required. Candidates must be able to clear a full criminal background check, drug test, and obtain necessary vaccinations including Measles, mumps, rubella (MRM), Varicella, Pertussis, Tetanus and diphtheria (Tdap), Influenza (current season), and proof of a negative TB skin or blood test within the past year. The hiring process may take up to 2 weeks, with reimbursement for vaccinations on the first paycheck. The position requires repetitive motion capability, good eye/hand coordination, manual dexterity for assembling units or small parts of equipment, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Requirements

A+ certification and/or associate's degree in the computer field
2+ years of professional business working experience in the computer repair field
Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm
Valid State Driver’s License
Minimum State auto insurance on your vehicle
Good driving record over the last 3-years (2 or less traffic violations)
Must be able to clear a full criminal background check/drug test
Must obtain all the necessary vaccinations (Measles, mumps, rubella (MRM), Varicella, Pertussis, Tetanus and diphtheria (Tdap vaccination is required), Influenza (current season), Proof of a negative TB skin or blood test within the past year)
Associate's degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Information Services, or related field, or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Background check/drug screening required.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
