We have an opportunity for a Computer Systems Analyst to work as a member of an energetic and dynamic team supporting advanced program integration and installation within the US Navy’s Strike Planning and Execution Systems line of products. Our Computer Systems Analysts perform system administration, installations, training, and customer support for multiple programs within the scope of this effort. The duties for this position will primarily be performed from the NAWC-WD Facility at NAS Point Mugu and may include occasional CONUS / OCONUS travel to support installation and meeting events, to include work on board US Navy vessels.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required as this position will require access to US-Only data systems.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and hold a DOD TOP SECRET (T5) / SCI clearance; an active TOP SECRET (T5) clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • Must be able to obtain a US Passport for international travel.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a relevant technical discipline
  • Allowable Substitution: Experience in support of Department of Defense IT systems, specifically NAVMPS / JMPS, may be substituted in lieu of degree; Department of Defense system administration training and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Must be able to obtain applicable DoD 8570.01m/8140 IATII certification within three months of start date, such as Security+, CISSP, etc.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience with the administration of DOD C4ISR systems and networks which includes 24/7/365 help desk support, conducting training, and on-site technical support.
  • Possesses strong analytical and interpersonal skills and maintains the ability to work independently as well as in team setting.
  • Excellent problem solving, negotiation and organizational skills/techniques.
  • Candidate must be able to analyze and research software functions using a variety of technical source materials to develop documentation for the end user.

Responsibilities

  • Both as part of a team and independently analyze and break down software function, operation, and administration of the various system components, connections, and applications associated with the Strike Planning and Executions Systems environment.
  • Directly interact with various levels of US Government Program Office personnel, US Navy and US Marine Corps uniformed personnel, and other contractors to obtain required information.
  • Participate in technical document validation/verification and In-Process Reviews, program reviews, technical exchanges, and team meeting.
  • Be involved in the development and collection of performance metrics for monthly reporting and for use in developing/improving the documentation process.
  • Assist with tracking and inventory of government furnished equipment and materials.
  • Act as primary liaison between the government Program Office and Fleet users while providing technical support on site.
  • Provide system-specific administration and maintenance training for users.
  • Assist aircrew with mission planning when using supported programs.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to compile source data inputs, establish training requirements, and review developed material.
  • Provide cross-platform training and guidance to less experienced team members and team members from co-located programs outside of the mission planning environment.
  • Install and configure system-specific software on all applicable assets.
  • Install, integrate, test and secure site-unique hardware and software applications as approved by the government customer.
  • Create, maintain, and manage system administrator and user accounts for all applicable mission assets.
  • Provide technical recommendations and advice to the government customer in support of defining and prioritizing requirements for system upgrades, replacements, and new solutions.
  • Provide technical support for the preparation and development of documentation for installation, testing, service transition, continuity of operations, disaster response and recovery, and other standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate with enterprise network, web, database, and information assurance engineers and administrators for all installation, testing, integration, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
  • Monitor, administer, document and report on system security posture in accordance with DoD and local information assurance guidance and policy.
  • Prepare, pre-configure and test deployable equipment packages for remote connection and operation, train users and support personnel on system set-up and operation, and provide remote support to deployed personnel.
  • Support CM and QA practices by adhering to configuration management and change control policies and procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant and emerging technologies as assigned
