About The Position
Our client, the New York State Office of General Services (OGS), is seeking a Computer Support Specialist for a temporary position in New York, NY. This role is responsible for providing technical assistance, maintaining IT systems, and ensuring a smooth technology experience for end-users. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. This is an IN-OFFICE position located in Lower Manhattan, near Battery Park. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Information Technology and Customer Service
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity (or a closely related field)
- Proof of eligibility to work in New York State
- Solid understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, software applications, and networking concepts
- Strong analytical abilities to identify issues and determine effective solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and commitment to user satisfaction
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple requests, and maintain accurate documentation
- Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to users via phone, email, chat, and in-person interactions
- Monitor, manage, and resolve tickets using the JIRA ticketing system
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and peripheral devices
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
- Document technical issues, resolutions, and create user guides or knowledge base articles
- Support IT operations and perform other duties as assigned
