About The Position

This role involves employing advanced scientific and data analysis techniques to correlate complex technical findings into comprehensive narrative products. The Computer Scientist will leverage mathematics, statistics, information science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, network science, probability modeling, data mining, data engineering, data warehousing, data compression, and data protection to analyze existing intelligence data and integrate with other IC data sources. The position requires developing and utilizing machine learning and data mining algorithms, integrating these algorithms to support intelligence search and discovery missions, and making recommendations for data management within various constraints. Additionally, the role involves using data science techniques for predictive analysis, social media analytics, wargaming, and strategy development, as well as employing exploratory analysis for rapid intelligence derivation from large datasets. The Computer Scientist will also be responsible for preparing products that describe and document findings and activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with four (4) years of relevant experience
  • Current active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages (Python, Java, C++, or similar).
  • Experience with modern software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps, CI/CD).
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
  • Hands-on experience with relational and/or NoSQL database systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing architectures and containerized environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Correlate complex, technical findings into graphical, written, visual and verbal narrative products on trends of existing intelligence data to leverage other IC data sources using mathematics, statistics, information science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, network science, probability modeling, data mining, data engineering, data warehousing, data compression, and/or scientific techniques.
  • Develop and utilize machine learning and data mining and prediction algorithms based on open-source capabilities.
  • Integrate or code algorithms to support Government intelligence search and discovery missions.
  • Make best-practice recommendations on managing data within hardware, software, storage and bandwidth constraints.
  • Employ data science techniques to support predictive analysis, social media and crowd-source data analytics, wargaming, and strategy development.
  • Employ exploratory analysis and rapid iteration techniques of large volumes of data to quickly derive intelligence.
  • Prepare products to describe and document findings and activities.
