About The Position

MAG Aerospace is seeking to hire a Computer Network Architect to support operations supporting USSOCOM communications networks at WOLF in St. Inigoes, MD. A Computer Network Architect is responsible for providing network engineering expertise for Integrated Systems Networks (ISN) by designing, installing, maintaining and operating the components needed for enterprise connectivity, functionality, and security that enable business and mission systems. This role ensures reliable, compliant, and high-performance connectivity across cloud, corporate, and secure environments. U.S. Citizenship and TS Clearance with SCI Eligibility Required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or IT discipline
  • Six years of related work experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, or an associate’s degree plus four years of related work experience
  • Network engineering, infrastructure engineering, or cloud networking
  • Designing and operating enterprise network architectures across hybrid environments
  • Hands-on experience with cloud networking
  • Supporting geographically distributed organizations with multiple sites and remote users
  • Working in DoD-regulated environments
  • Network technologies: routing, switching, VPN, SD-WAN, firewall configuration
  • Cloud networking: Azure virtual networks, ExpressRoute, private endpoints
  • Security: Zero Trust architecture, segmentation, encryption standards
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting tools for network performance and availability
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • TS Clearance with SCI Eligibility

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting SCIF or secure facility network environments
  • Familiarity with CSfC and Type One encryption methods
  • Attained industry recognized certifications such as CCNP, CCNA or some subset of those certifications (Cisco routing and switching, for example).

Responsibilities

  • Designing, installing, maintaining and operating the components needed for enterprise connectivity, functionality, and security that enable business and mission systems.
  • Ensuring reliable, compliant, and high-performance connectivity across cloud, corporate, and secure environments.
  • Solid understanding of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, hot and cold sites, Cloud, and on prem network infrastructure characteristics, drawbacks, and benefits.
  • Moving beyond simple fixes to methodical troubleshooting.
  • Chasing VLANs, finding persistent MACs.
  • Identifying issues with routing protocols.
  • Understanding and troubleshooting application issues that may or may not be caused by network failure.
  • Working knowledge of IKE, IKEv2, IPSEC and MACSEC.
  • Basic Python scripting and Ansible to automate routine tasks.
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving.
  • Strong, effective communication and proficiency with documentation.

  • Ability to function as part of a team.
