About The Position

MAG Aerospace is seeking to hire a Computer Network Architect to support operations supporting USSOCOM communications networks at WOLF in St. Inigoes, MD. A Computer Network Architect is responsible for providing network engineering expertise for Integrated Systems Networks (ISN) by designing, installing, maintaining and operating the components needed for enterprise connectivity, functionality, and security that enable business and mission systems. This role ensures reliable, compliant, and high-performance connectivity across cloud, corporate, and secure environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or IT discipline, or six years of related work experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, or an associate’s degree plus four years of related work experience.
  • Network engineering, infrastructure engineering, or cloud networking experience.
  • Designing and operating enterprise network architectures across hybrid environments.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud networking.
  • Supporting geographically distributed organizations with multiple sites and remote users.
  • Working in DoD-regulated environments.
  • Proficiency in network technologies: routing, switching, VPN, SD-WAN, firewall configuration.
  • Experience with cloud networking: Azure virtual networks, ExpressRoute, private endpoints.
  • Knowledge of security concepts: Zero Trust architecture, segmentation, encryption standards.
  • Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools for network performance and availability.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • TS Clearance with SCI Eligibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting SCIF or secure facility network environments.
  • Familiarity with CSfC and Type One encryption methods.
  • Attained industry recognized certifications such as CCNP, CCNA or some subset of those certifications (Cisco routing and switching, for example).

Responsibilities

  • Designing, installing, maintaining, and operating components for enterprise connectivity, functionality, and security.
  • Ensuring reliable, compliant, and high-performance connectivity across cloud, corporate, and secure environments.
  • Providing network engineering expertise for Integrated Systems Networks (ISN).
  • Performing deep troubleshooting of network issues, including routing protocols and application issues.
  • Managing L2 Ethernet technologies such as VXLAN, OTV, and Spanning Tree.
  • Implementing and managing L3 routing protocols including IBGP, EBGP, EIGRP, RIP, and OSPF.
  • Working with service provider routers.
  • Configuring and managing VPNs (IKE, IKEv2, IPSEC, MACSEC).
  • Knowledge of firewalls and security appliances, and integration with cloud connectivity.
  • Understanding of CSFC and connectivity packages.
  • Automating routine tasks using basic Python scripting and Ansible.
  • Applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Communicating effectively and maintaining proficiency with documentation.
  • Collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Providing customer service oriented support.
  • Managing time and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Articulating and documenting troubleshooting steps for enterprise network issues.
