About The Position

CACI is seeking a W3 Computer Hardware Engineer in support of a program whose initiative is aimed at combating evolving and emerging threats, supporting related exploitation and replication activities, and advancing operational rehearsal, exercise, wargaming, and counter system development. Additionally, we are focusing on integration and experimentation, including Modeling and Simulation. Your work will help ensure Warfighter readiness and the realization of future capabilities. The W3 Computer Hardware Engineer will provide advanced technical expertise in designing, developing, testing, and evaluating computer and computer-related equipment for military, scientific, and operational use. This role supports the Government's modeling and simulation infrastructure, Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) environments, and system-of-systems integration efforts critical to multi-domain operations and warfighter readiness.

Requirements

  • Associate of Arts (AA) degree or 2 year technical school.
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Advanced knowledge of computer hardware architecture and design principle
  • Experience with hardware integration in LAN/WAN environments
  • Familiarity with DoD/Army systems and networks
  • Understanding of hardware security accreditation processes
  • Proficiency in hardware testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting methodologies

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with military modeling and simulation (M&S) environments
  • Knowledge of Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) simulation systems
  • Experience supporting DoD exercises and operations in distributed environments
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies and Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Experience with Command Post Exercises (CPXs) or Field Training Exercises (FTXs)
  • Experience working in INDOPACOM or Pacific theater environment

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and test computer hardware and related equipment for modeling and simulation systems
  • Provide technical expertise in all areas of modeling and simulation equipment within Government offices, laboratories, and test locations
  • Supervise the manufacturing and installation of computer or computer-related equipment and components
  • Support installation and system maintenance for M&S systems in designated facilities
  • Integrate new hardware technologies into existing hardware and software systems
  • Manage routine upgrades on hardware connected to networks
  • Support hardware systems engineering, configuration management, and verification, validation and accreditation (VV&A)
  • Coordinate with software engineers to integrate hardware and software systems
  • Evaluate new and existing technologies and assess costs and benefits of incorporation into DEVCOM capabilities
  • Participate in architecture development, design, implementation, and upgrading of process-intensive systems
  • Conduct performance testing and tuning, capacity planning, and system monitoring
  • Support 24/7 technical and logistical support when required for exercises and operations
  • Provide technical expertise for event/exercise infrastructure, services, and applications
  • Support large-scale Joint and Coalition exercises, Command Post Exercises (CPXs), and Field Training Exercises (FTXs)
  • Coordinate security requirements and ensure facilities are certified at the correct security level
