Technologist - Computed Tomography (CT) (Nights)
About The Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join the diagnostic imaging team. The technologist operates specialized, computer-controlled X-ray equipment to produce high-quality cross-sectional diagnostic images of internal organs, bones, and soft tissues. The role supports radiologists and attending physicians in diagnosing complex medical conditions, acute trauma, and internal disorders. The position includes performing CT imaging procedures, preparing and caring for patients, administering oral and intravenous contrast media, evaluating images for technical quality, and maintaining equipment and safety standards. The technologist follows radiation safety, infection control, and HIPAA confidentiality requirements.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of dedicated CT Technologist experience.
- Active ARRT (CT) Certification and Registration.
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Exceptional knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
- Strong IV start skills.
- Intermediate PACS/EHR proficiency.
- Excellent, compassionate patient communication.
Responsibilities
- Perform CT imaging procedures using computerized tomography scanners in accordance with clinical protocols and radiation safety standards.
- Explain procedures to patients, verify medical history, screen for contrast contraindications, position patients accurately, and ensure their comfort and safety.
- Administer oral and intravenous contrast media using aseptic technique and proper dose protocols.
- Evaluate completed scans for technical quality and accuracy, ensure complete cross-sectional coverage, and transmit images to PACS for radiologist interpretation.
- Follow ALARA principles and infection control and HIPAA confidentiality standards.
- Inspect imaging equipment daily.
