Comprehensive Community Services Clinical Intern

About The Position

Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Services is seeking a Social Work or Counseling intern to support the clinical aspects of onboarding consumers into the Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) program. The intern will work within Community Access to Recovery Services (CARS) CCS and provide support, technical assistance, and quality assistance to CCS branch offices. Direct clinical hours are not provided for this placement. The internship requires a minimum of 16 hours per week for at least two semesters.

Requirements

Be authorized to work in the United States.
Maintain a valid United States driver’s license and insurance throughout employment.
Currently be enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Social Work, Rehab Psychology, Human Services, or a closely related field.
Have at least one year of Behavioral Health experience.
Have excellent communication and customer service skills.
Be proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Be comfortable using databases and Electronic Health Records.
Be willing and able to travel within the community up to 5% of the time.
Establish Wisconsin State residency within six months of appointment and maintain residency during employment.

Responsibilities

Conduct assessments and screenings through the CCS phone line, speak with potential referrals, determine eligibility, and assign eligible referrals to Care Coordination agencies.
Attend CCS meetings and trainings, including meetings related to community-based services, CCS Thursday Staffing’s, MHP, All Provider, and other assigned meetings or trainings.
Audit charts and paperwork and run reports to support agencies, MHP/SAP, and leadership; inform staff about items that need completion and assist with quarterly auditing.
Receive ongoing scheduled supervision from a direct supervisor or licensed staff member.
Perform other duties as assigned.
