About The Position

Composite Energy Technologies (CET) in Bristol, RI is looking to hire a full-time Composite Technicians to support all aspects of our manufacturing operation. This factory position earns a competitive wage based on the experience and skill set of the candidate. CET has the only state recognized Composite Technician Apprenticeship Program. We provide the tools, resources, and on the job training necessary for Composite Technicians I, II, and III. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Experience with hand tools
Ability to read, write, and speak English
No known allergy to epoxy agents
Ability to become certified to wear a respirator
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Able to pass a background check

RIMTA PAT program
ACMA certified composite technician
Ability to and experience with operating power tools
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
OSHA 10 Safety Standards General Industry
Certified Forklift Operator

Responsibilities

Fabricate and assemble composite parts.
Maintain a high degree of precision.
Laminate, use vacuum bags, and operate ovens.
Perform cosmetic finishing work.
Route, drill, trim, and sand composite parts according to blueprint specifications.
Maintain a clean and safe environment.
Communicate proactively about any potential risks.
Fill out and keep track of all appropriate quality management documentation.
Coordinate with engineers and designers.
Study drawings.
Mix epoxy and resins.
Perform assembly and finishing.
Operate machines and equipment.
Clean and prepare work areas.
Pick up and return all tools and equipment to proper locations.
Secure work area each day to minimize potential hazards.
Handle and store all materials appropriately per product specifications.
Perform work in accordance with training and quality assurance guidelines.
Stop work immediately if there is a question or concern for safety or quality and inform appropriate supervisor/manager.
Follow all safety and incident reporting procedures.
Turn all paperwork in to supervisor when fully completed.
Perform processes including tool preparation, lamination, vacuum bagging, oven operation, and finishing/cosmetics work.
Route, drill, trim and sand composite parts according to blueprint dimensions and tolerances.
