About The Position

Performs varying Q.C. technical functions throughout the Plant, using good judgment and reasoning skills. Provides gauge setting function for the plant by, reviewing prints for limitations and specifications, selects and distributes standards, sets up gauges as required, and verifies or makes new standards ad required, cleans gauges and notifies chief gauge setter of need for major repairs. Performs component dimension, roundness etc., and profile tracings of components. Interprets results. Dealing efficiently with co-workers, suppliers, supervisors, staff department heads, and personnel in other plants in the bearing division. Maintain I, M & TE records for verification and performs calibration of all I, M & TE equipment. Develops and writes procedures as and updates calibration manual as needed. Uses computer software such as Microsoft Office, Oracle, Engage Software, SharePoint, etc. Inspect all pieces of a scheduled lot for 1 or more dimensional or visual characteristics. May include checking for defective components, checking returned merchandise, or sizing parts for the assembly department. Performs inspection and gauging of components and assemblies as directed. Perform other related inspection functions, such as etching, removing natal etching, audit inspections, etc. Operate magnaflux unit and natal etch system. Maintain and test the magnaflux and natal etch systems as required. Setup & operate optical comparators and hardness testers. Maintain cleanliness. Move containers of parts within the inspection area and to the next operation by lifting baskets, using a hoist, or using a hand cart. Fill out required paperwork including inspection reports, rework tickets, and scrap tickets, sizing tickets and production cards, providing accurate record keeping. Prepare and pack components for shipment, complete all relevant paperwork and distribute copies as required. Perform receiving inspection function utilizing various software and gauging. Perform induction HT inspection function. Follow Ethics and Safety Programs Adhere to all Export, Import and Supply Chain Security Policy requirement relevant to the position Follow State and Federal Environmental Compliance Programs Adhere to AS-9100 Standards.

Requirements

  • High School Education or GED
  • None (Experience)
  • Personal Computer Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Proficient with the Internet
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to get along with others
  • Can effectively function in a matrix and team environment
