About The Position

A.W. Chesterton is hiring a Component Picker/Packer to support customers by accurately picking components for mechanical seal assemblies and packaging completed assemblies. This is an on-site manufacturing role working on the first shift, from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Requirements

Work with limited supervision; supervisory instructions are provided for special assignments.
Follow written and verbal instructions and procedures to ensure workplace safety and an efficient, effective assembly process.
Lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
Perform repetitive elbow movements, rotating wrist movements, grasping, and squeezing; move, reach above the shoulders, and bend freely.
Reach with hands and arms and meet job requirements; close vision is required.
Pass a background check and applicable medical surveillance requirements as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Consult bills of material to determine the components needed for seal assemblies or spare-part kits.
Pack completed assembly orders and verify order accuracy against material lists.
Retrieve component parts from inventory.
Perform simple quality-control inspections to validate fit and function.
Identify potentially defective components and isolate them for quality-control rework as required.
Select appropriate packaging for each assembled seal according to the shop order.
Write the date, lot number, and other designated information on packaging labels using the shop order.
Store and retrieve materials as required.
Maintain a clean and efficient assembly bench and work area.
