About The Position

Service Station Systems, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Lead to join their growing company. This role involves traditional warehouse responsibilities with exposure to basic vehicle maintenance, cleaning, management, and supporting general operations. The position is key to keeping operations efficient and compliant by assisting with vehicle upkeep, safety inspections, warehouse management, cleaning, shipping and receiving, and inventory control. Training is provided for all job duties, including testing customer sites, performing routine maintenance on fuel dispensers, using hand and power tools, troubleshooting and repairing fuel dispenser leaks, replacing components, assisting with tank monitoring, installing or replacing sump pumps, performing pressure testing, and troubleshooting electrical issues. The role also includes setting up safety equipment, maintaining a company vehicle, and driving to customer sites with occasional overnight stays. As the career progresses, employees will be trained and certified to perform more advanced technical work in the fuel industry.

Requirements

  • Mechanical Skills – experience with hand tools (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers) and some basic power tools (drills) is required.
  • Basic Computer Skills – ability to use laptops and other electronic devices (iPad, phone) proficiently is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Hobbies related to mechanical, automotive, electrical, carpentry, etc. are relevant for the role.
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing (pressure, valves, etc.) and electrical (voltage, AC/DC) concepts are preferred.
  • Prior experience working in the field, hands-on, and with customers is preferred.
  • Experience in relevant industries is a plus (construction, automotive, manufacturing, plumbing, HVAC, electrician, maintenance, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Complete testing of customer sites per government regulations, which may include testing sensors, pumps, lines, tanks and more.
  • Perform routine maintenance on fuel dispensers (Wayne, Gilbarco, etc.), including replacing nozzles and breakaway hoses.
  • Use hand tools (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers) and power tools (drills) for maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and repair fuel dispenser leaks, such as leaking nozzles, pumps, valves.
  • Replace O-rings, gaskets, and basic piping fixtures.
  • Assist with tank monitoring and sump pump operations.
  • Install or replace sump pumps.
  • Perform pressure testing, replace meters, filters and faulty sensors.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues at dispensers or Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Replace electrical components and perform basic voltage measurements using a voltmeter/multimeter.
  • Follow job documents and safety protocols, take detailed job notes and update relevant systems with laptop or ipad.
  • Set up safety equipment and barricades as needed.
  • Maintain a well-organized and fully stocked company vehicle, ensuring it is clean and functional.
  • Drive to customer sites and shop locations daily, with occasional overnight stays (paid).
