About The Position

The person in this position will serve on the Administrative Review Team to conduct compliance monitoring in alignment with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines. Assist in planning, directing, and conducting formal administrative reviews of school food authorities (SFAs) Child Nutrition Program (CNP) operations. Prepare written findings and recommendations, negotiate corrective actions, perform post-review evaluations, deliver training to SFAs based review findings and provide technical assistance to ensure compliance with federal, state, and agency requirements going forward. Act as program compliance liaison for assigned SFAs and provides technical assistance to ensure adherence to federal and state regulations. Conduct Annual Visit Reviews of SFA program operations, assess needs, and make recommendations for program improvement. Train and provide guidance in all areas of program management, ensure data integrity, collect required data, and submit reports as needed. Document processes and train assigned Office of Health and Nutrition (OHN) staff on special projects previously assigned. Participate as a primary or secondary contributor to special projects assigned within the Nutrition Program Team. Serve on assigned cross-divisional teams to support food and nutrition programs and statewide public education goals. Participate in cross-training, as requested. Develop, coordinate, and deliver specialized training for various organizations. Plan and implement regional and statewide training, including scheduling, agenda creation, development of training materials such as surveys, presentation of training material for approval, procurement of needed items and resources for training, etc. Train state and local officials on program requirements through both formal and informal presentations. Serve as an agency resource for school district staff, education professionals, parents, private and public sector partners, and community stakeholders. Participate in ongoing professional development activities to maintain and enhance job related knowledge, skills, and competencies. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. This position is located in the Office of Health and Nutrition.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree
  • Experience in education, management or business.

Nice To Haves

  • A master's degree and four (4) years of experience in food business management, food and human nutrition, food service management or related area; or a bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience in business management, food and human nutrition, or food service management, USDA food programs.
