About The Position

We are looking for a full-time Compliance Specialist to join our team at Yorkshire Apartments in Silver Spring, MD. This role is a great fit for someone who has affordable housing compliance experience, enjoys working with residents, and can balance detailed administrative work with warm, professional customer service. In this role, you will help ensure the community stays compliant with affordable housing requirements while also supporting the day-to-day resident experience.

Requirements

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Recertification Specialist, Compliance Specialist, or similar affordable housing compliance role
COS certification required
Strong understanding of affordable housing compliance and multifamily property management practices
Strong math skills for income, asset, and rent calculations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong customer service skills and a resident-focused approach
Ability to stay organized, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
Comfortable using Windows-based software and property management systems
Reliable transportation
Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends for resident events

Nice To Haves

Experience with Yardi property management software
General accounting or budgeting experience
Leasing or outreach experience in a multifamily housing environment

Responsibilities

Manage housing compliance requirements for the community
Complete income, asset, and rent calculations accurately
Conduct file reviews and maintain required documentation
Coordinate with the property management team to maintain compliance standards
Support recertifications, file updates, and resident documentation
Respond to resident and prospect inquiries in both English and Spanish
Greet and assist current and prospective residents with professionalism and care
Help with property tours and showcase apartment features and community amenities as needed
Maintain accurate resident and prospect records
Support resident retention through excellent follow-up and customer service
Assist with marketing, outreach, community events, and day-to-day property operations
