XNRGY Climate Systems is a North American leader in sustainable design and advanced manufacturing of custom air treatment systems, focused on research and energy development to reduce its carbon footprint. The company is expanding with a new technology headquarters in Mesa, Arizona, in 2025 and a second manufacturing site in 2026. This expansion signifies growth, innovation, and leadership in climate solutions and support for the AI industry. As part of this US expansion, XNRGY is seeking a qualified Compliance Specialist – Trade & Product Compliance to support trade, product, regulatory, and customer compliance requirements across the organization. This role involves close collaboration with Supply Chain, Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Legal, and Commercial teams to ensure products, components, suppliers, and documentation meet applicable import regulations, environmental requirements, and customer obligations. The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, regulatory knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex compliance requirements into practical business actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, International Business, Engineering, Business, Compliance, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in trade compliance, product compliance, regulatory compliance, customs, supply chain, or a related function.
  • Working knowledge of HTS classification, country-of-origin requirements, and U.S. import regulations.
  • Experience reviewing BOMs, drawings, specifications, materials, and technical product information for classification or compliance purposes.
  • Familiarity with REACH, RoHS, TSCA, California Proposition 65, PFAS/PBT restrictions, conflict minerals, and related environmental or material regulations.
  • Experience working with customs brokers, suppliers, engineering teams, and customer compliance organizations preferred.
  • Strong analytical, research, documentation, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret technical and regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable requirements for internal teams and suppliers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple customer, supplier, and regulatory requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ownership, problem-solving skills, and follow-through.

Responsibilities

  • Determine, document, and maintain accurate HTS classifications, country-of-origin determinations, marking requirements, and supporting documentation for imported components and finished products.
  • Review commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and other import documentation for accuracy and compliance with U.S. import requirements.
  • Evaluate tariffs, duties, and applicable trade requirements while partnering with customs brokers, freight forwarders, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve compliance issues.
  • Coordinate compliance with REACH, RoHS, TSCA, California Proposition 65, PFAS/PBT restrictions, conflict minerals, and other applicable environmental and material regulations.
  • Obtain and maintain supplier declarations, certifications, test reports, and supporting regulatory documentation.
  • Review customer specifications, questionnaires, portals, contractual requirements, and restricted-substance requirements and coordinate timely responses and declarations.
  • Partner with Engineering and Sourcing to evaluate component and material changes and identify potential compliance risks before products are purchased, manufactured, imported, or shipped.
  • Maintain centralized records for HTS classifications, supplier certifications, regulatory declarations, customer requirements, and supporting documentation.
  • Support compliance training, supplier qualification, audits, corrective actions, and improvements to compliance processes and reporting.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Operations, Legal, Commercial teams, suppliers, customers, and external logistics partners to resolve compliance requirements.
