Compliance Safety Health Officers will work under general supervision in conducting partial and comprehensive occupational safety and health inspections in all types of industries throughout Arizona to ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act and all standards and rules issued pursuant to the Act. The candidate appointed to this position will plan on-site inspections, with or without advance notice, research and analyze work processes, practices and conditions; using the Federal OSHA website, review eTools to determine common hazards in a specific type of industry, review company information using on-line employer websites; review national and local insurance websites for injury and illness rate data; use ICA Annual Report for data on industry rates in Arizona; use the National Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) to review current national trends on injury and illnesses. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.
