About The Position

As a Compliance Paralegal, you’ll help drive Concora Credit’s Mission to enable customers to Do More with Credit – every single day. The impact you’ll have at Concora Credit: You’ll support the compliance function across two workstreams: legal records production (subpoena responses) and regulatory license administration. You’ll report to the Chief Compliance Officer and require a high degree of accuracy, discretion, and organization, as word product is subject to legal scrutiny and regulatory review. You’ll also provide general Compliance administrative support as needed. We hire people, not positions. Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of paralegal experience with demonstrated experience in subpoena response and legal record production in a financial services, financial institution, or law firm environment.
  • Paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Working knowledge of legal process types, including criminal and civil subpoenas, court orders, and law enforcement requests.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze legal requests, define production scope, and conduct quality control review of records assembled by others, ensuring productions are accurate, complete, and not overbroad.
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive matters simultaneously without sacrificing quality.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in financial services, loan servicing or financial institution environment.
  • Familiarity with state regulatory licensing processes and multi-jurisdictional license administration.

Responsibilities

  • In coordination with our Operations team, receive, log, and manage incoming legal process, including criminal subpoenas, civil subpoenas, and law enforcement requests directed to the company regarding consumer loan applications and account records.
  • Review requests to determine the precise scope of records sought and, if necessary, escalate for further review.
  • Provide directions to our Operations team as to what records are to be gathered, the applicable time period, and any scope limitations or exclusions.
  • Review the records prior to production to verify that the response is accurate, complete, and limited to the scope of the request and ensure they are organized in a professional production package for delivery to requesting parties, courts, or law enforcement.
  • Prepare certifications, cover letters, or other required transmittal documentation as needed.
  • Identify and escalate potential issues, including requests implicating potential consumer privacy rights and unusual legal processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for our license administrator vendor.
  • Gather, organize, and submit the information needed for the license administrator to make our annual license renewal filings, new license applications, and regulatory filings across state jurisdictions.
  • Maintain an accurate license inventory tracking system.
  • Retain all licensing communications, filings, and confirmations in an organized manner.
  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Compliance Officer and VP of Compliance.
  • Support ad hoc Compliance projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Always handle sensitive and confidential information with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
