About The Position

The Compliance Officer is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring that The Center for Family and Child Enrichment (CFCE) operates in full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies and contractual requirements. This role oversees compliance systems, risk management, audits, and quality assurance processes while promoting a culture of ethics, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Law, Social Work, or a related field required
  • 5–8+ years of progressive experience in compliance, risk management, auditing, or regulatory oversight, preferably within a nonprofit, healthcare, or child welfare setting.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, policies, and internal controls.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state regulations related to child welfare, including familiarity with Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) requirements.
  • Proven experience conducting audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Strong understanding of contract management, grant compliance, and reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or similar credential preferred.
  • Experience working with accreditation bodies and regulatory agencies is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead organization-wide compliance strategy for CFCE, aligning with regulatory and funding requirements.
  • Advise leadership on regulatory changes, risks, and compliance best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and contractual requirements.
  • Oversee audits, monitoring systems, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
  • Investigate incidents and compliance issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • Partner with Quality Improvement teams to support continuous improvement.
  • Develop and deliver compliance and ethics training.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and compliance across all levels.
  • Ensure accurate regulatory, contractual, and board reporting.
  • Maintain documentation for audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Serve as liaison to regulatory agencies, auditors, and external partners.
  • Represent CFCE during audits, monitoring visits, and accreditation review.
