About The Position

BrightSpring Health Services’ Clinical Quality and Compliance internship provides hands-on experience and professional development in healthcare compliance, clinical quality, and risk management. The intern will learn how compliance and security initiatives support patients, organizational integrity, and business operations, while collaborating with experienced professionals and business leaders across multiple departments. Program activities include site visits, research, project work, workshops, networking events, leadership discussions, mentorship, and a final project. The internship is intended for a motivated college student interested in healthcare and eager to develop professional skills and connections.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Self-driven and detail-oriented.
• Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
• Team player with strong collaboration skills.
• Able to manage time and tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Passionate about the healthcare industry and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Connect with business leaders from all segments to understand the business and develop a professional network.
• Complete site visits to pharmacies and local offices.
• Potentially participate in a ride-along.
• Support the Chief Security Officer with security database maintenance and investigation training.
• Research insurance plans to identify funding for patient services.
• Research risk areas for business lines.
• Assist in creating newsletters or training materials on compliance topics and role-specific items.
• Review industry policies, procedures, and codes of conduct to identify best practices.
• Complete special projects to support the department.
• Participate in interactive workshops, networking events, leadership discussions, peer collaboration, and a final project.
