About The Position

Facilitates the Hy-Vee food protection and occupational safety program training courses. This position will conduct Certified Food Protection Manager, Basic Food Handler, and Occupational Safety courses regionally and will help strengthen and support retail and manufacturing operations to ensure Hy-Vee remains in compliance with regulatory requirements and Hy-Vee standards.

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent required
Prior work experience in food safety, food processing, quality assurance desired.
Experience and technical knowledge of retail and manufacturing food code requirements along with basic occupational safety codes.
Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills.
Ability to identify problems, develop, execute solutions, produce accurate information
Computer skills in using word processing, spreadsheet and email applications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Valid driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

post-secondary degree in food science and/or microbiology a plus.

Responsibilities

Develops a comprehensive companywide food safety and sanitation training program.
Provides ongoing training to retail, manufacturing, and Food Safety Supervisors on food safety and sanitation OSHA requirements.
May assist with routine food safety and sanitation assessments of stores.
May assist with preparing and communicating individual store reports based on assessment identifying food protection and sanitation issues.
Assess and ensure store compliance with OSHA requirements.
Track and measure compliance and food safety results of all retail locations.
Prepare monthly and quarterly summary reports.
May participate in preliminary and final health department inspection to obtain proper licenses for new stores and remodels.
Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Attend and participate as required in company meetings, events and functions.
