This role facilitates the Hy-Vee food protection program with assigned retail stores to provide guidance and address questions or issues on food safety to help facilities remain in compliance with regulatory requirements and Hy-Vee standards.

Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills.
Ability to identify problems, develop, execute solutions, produce accurate information
Computer skills in using word processing, spreadsheet and email applications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Prior work experience in food safety, food processing, quality assurance desired.
High school degree or equivalent required
Valid driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

Experience and knowledge of retail merchandising and operations a plus.
post-secondary degree a plus.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine food safety and sanitation assessments of assigned stores.
Prepare and communicate individual store report based on assessment identifying food protection and sanitation issues.
Assess and insure store compliance with OSHA requirements
Track and measure results of assigned stores
Prepare monthly and quarterly summary reports.
Provide support to project managers during remodel and new store construction projects.
Participate in preliminary and final health department inspection to obtain proper licenses for new stores and remodels.
Follow up on state inspections to insure serious violations or non-compliance are corrected.
Provide food safety and sanitation training and coaching to store staff
Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Attend and participate as required in company meetings, events and functions.
