About The Position

The Compliance Coordinator for Synergy House is directly responsible for providing integrated, quality, youth-focused and accessible care. This occurs by ensuring staff members, and client records are in compliance with all regulatory guidelines. This includes assisting management with program compliance and administrative tasks. This position follows the Synergy House Standard Operating Procedures in all day to day operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two-years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must have a valid Class E Drivers license.
  • Must obtain CPR/First Aid Certification and be a Medical Technician.
  • Must be at least 20 years of age, pass a background check that includes fingerprinting, a drug screen, have a valid driver’s license, proof of car insurance and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that is free of violations that conflict with Synergy’s insurance policy.
  • Must be able to use general office equipment, type and have the ability to use computer software, including Microsoft Office.
  • Must have the ability to transport up to fifteen (15) passengers in a van.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of medical case management and/or experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a liaison between Synergy House direct care staff, Youth Campus Case Managers, Youth Campus Therapists and management as well as external agencies, and other community resources.
  • Provides first response by answering the Youth Crisis Line and providing reception at Synergy House.
  • Maintains communication with other staff members – both oral and written.
  • Performs general clerical duties – answers telephones, including the hotline.
  • Completes client intakes and discharges.
  • Enters HMIS data and audits charts for closing.
  • Responsible for scheduling and staffing to ensure sufficient staff coverage for each shift at the Synergy House is in compliance with ratio expectations.
  • Responsible for staff meeting required new hire training and coordinates new hire activities.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of client record and maintains files in accordance with Synergy standard.
  • Completed documentation both accurately and professionally in providing necessary information about a client’s care.
  • Participate in Performance and Quality Improvement activates.
  • Expected to assist other employees by sharing experienced, expertise and training.
  • Serves as campus Safe Crisis Management (SCM) Trainer for SH and Youth Campus staff.
  • Serves in on-call rotation (on-site support).
  • Serves in ratio when needed. When in ratio provides: basic life skill training, assistance with advocacy and case management goals, dispenses medication according to Med Tech Certification guidelines.
  • Maintains accurate documentation and client records.
  • Maintains client confidentiality.
  • Assists clients in crisis.
  • Attends internal and external trainings to meet the 40 hour per year licensing requirement.
  • Attends and participates in weekly staff meetings/case reviews.
  • Maintains a clean environment as necessary i.e. cleaning facility areas, office area, laundering linens and completing other household tasks as needed and/or assigned.
  • Collects, organizes and records donations by utilizing Synergy’s Donation Form.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
