About The Position

Washington Mills is seeking a detail-oriented compliance specialist to join their team in Niagara Falls, NY. This newly created role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values accuracy and accountability, and is excited to help support and strengthen compliance processes. Washington Mills is a producer of abrasive, ceramic and refractory grains and powders with global distribution and sites located throughout North America and Europe.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical field or related curriculum, preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a quality system (ISO9001, Nadcap, NQA-1, or similar)
  • Detail-oriented mindset to ensure timely filings are maintained and documents remain organized and up to date
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and oversight
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be a US Citizen willing and able to obtain government security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate yearly audit schedule and ensure requirements are met
  • Maintain all audit records, including relevant notes and reports
  • Coordinate and complete audits, backshift and quality, communicating the results
  • Track Corrective Action Requests and Preventative Action Requests (CAR/PARs) to ensure the team appropriately responds to issues
  • Trend CAR/PAR findings to proactively spot weaknesses and address the problem
  • Maintain document control system for the government program, including issuing new and revised records to all affected employees
  • Work with employees to update procedures and documentation
  • Develop and maintain the document control program for the NFNY business unit
  • Serve as Facilities Security Officer for the site and communicate updates to the security plan
  • Submit clearance approval documents for incoming program employees as needed
  • Provide administration support to the Program Director
