About The Position

The Compliance Associate is responsible for providing administrative and compliance support to agency programming, ensuring that programs operate in alignment with Friendship Shelter’s policies, regulatory requirements, and commitment to quality service. This position monitors program adherence, conducts routine audits to identify potential compliance risks, and works collaboratively with staff and leadership to resolve findings and implement effective policies, systems, and controls that reduce risk and promote accountability. The Compliance Associate is expected to stay current with regulatory changes and agency policies while approaching compliance with integrity, consistency, and respect for program participants, supporters, and employees. Requirements

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, including spreadsheets.
  • Driving is an essential duty or function of this job. Drive up to 25 %
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least two years of experience in compliance.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Desire to be a part of a team that is passionately committed to ending homelessness.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain working knowledge of assigned programs, contracts, and applicable regulatory and funding requirements.
  • Provide CalAIM administrative and compliance support to assigned programs, including processing authorizations, documentation review, and quality assurance.
  • Identify risks to compliance and work with responsible parties to make corrections and ensure compliance systems are being followed.
  • Conduct file audits, documentation review, and quality assurance for assigned programs; monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and agency standards, identify risks, and work with responsible parties to make corrections and ensure compliance systems are followed.
  • Complete assigned data entry and assist with required reporting, as applicable.
  • Participate in third-party monitoring, including preparations beforehand, preparing reports or files, and being present during monitoring visits.
  • Follow-up monitoring sessions by addressing any concerns or findings and working with program management and the Compliance and Systems Supervisor and Manager to develop systems that ensure future compliance.
  • Work collaboratively with the compliance and systems team, program staff and the finance department to ensure that compliance audits are inclusive of funding regulatory requirements, data collection requirements, the agency’s quality standards, and billing requirements.
  • Complete other tasks as directed by the Compliance and Systems Supervisor and/or Manager.
