About The Position

Anchor is seeking an AI-First Compliance and Risk Manager to lead and scale its compliance operations. This is a hands-on role responsible for the day-to-day compliance functions, including KYB/KYC, transaction monitoring, and investigations. The core of this role is to leverage AI and automation to eliminate manual work, manage increasing volumes, and ensure the platform remains audit-ready and safe as the company experiences hyper-growth. The successful candidate will build and automate systems using AI to handle volume and surface risk without a proportional increase in headcount. This role requires a deeply tech-savvy individual who can independently build and configure tools, is analytical, integrity-driven, and high-energy. The AI-First Mandate emphasizes using AI to scale compliance operations efficiently, automating tasks like triage, document review, case narratives, monitoring, and follow-up. The expectation is that the candidate brings existing AI-driven compliance operating models and can demonstrate their impact.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in AML, BSA compliance, financial crime operations, fraud investigations, or regulated payments environments (fintech experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing compliance processes such as KYB/KYC onboarding, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and case investigations.
  • Proven ability to use AI tools to run compliance processes more efficiently.
  • Proven ability to make independent, risk-based decisions and apply sound judgment to ambiguous or time-sensitive situations.
  • Strong written communication skills with experience drafting regulatory-grade case narratives, decision rationales, and operational documentation.
  • Compliance documentation experience, including maintaining and updating BSA/AML program docs, risk assessments, and internal control documentation.
  • Familiarity with expectations from banking partners and regulators.
  • Hands-on AI experience in a compliance or operational context, with the ability to name specific tools, automated workflows, and their measurable impact.
  • Analytical, structured, dependable, proactive, and integrity-driven personal attributes.
  • Ability to challenge assumptions, improve processes, and operate with both autonomy and accountability.

  • Experience with ACH payment systems, payments infrastructure, or SaaS billing platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead KYB/KYC and CIP onboarding workflows, including identity verification, OFAC screening, sanctions analysis, and EIN/TIN validation, using AI-assisted review queues to prioritize cases and identify high-risk signals.
  • Serve as the primary client-facing compliance contact, guiding clients through onboarding, conducting verification calls, and making risk-based decisions, including EDD/PEP reviews, informed by AI-generated summaries and risk scores.
  • Conduct and document alert investigations across fraud, AML, sanctions, and financial crime indicators, utilizing AI tooling to accelerate triage and focus human judgment.
  • Assess and document case findings clearly and consistently, aligning with audit expectations and regulatory documentation standards.
  • Use AI-powered analytics to optimize monitoring rules, improve control effectiveness, and identify emerging risk vectors.
  • Develop and maintain compliance documentation, including playbooks, case files, and training materials, using AI to ensure they are current and audit-ready.
  • Act as a partner to internal and external auditors.
  • Maintain and update compliance documentation and policy materials, such as BSA/AML program documents, risk assessments, and internal policies, ensuring they are current with regulatory requirements and Anchor’s product offerings.
  • Support banking partner and sponsor bank relationships by preparing compliance documentation, responding to audit requests, and coordinating due diligence reviews.
  • Monitor regulatory changes in payments and fintech, flagging updates that require operational or documentation changes.
  • Use AI to monitor regulatory developments and maintain a living compliance roadmap.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally and with Product and R&D teams to build and implement compliance safeguards into new product features.
