About The Position

Anchor is seeking an AI-First Compliance and Risk Manager to lead and scale its compliance operations. This is a hands-on role responsible for the day-to-day compliance functions, including KYB/KYC, transaction monitoring, and investigations. The position requires a deep understanding and active use of AI and automation to enhance efficiency, manage volume, identify risks, and maintain audit readiness without proportional headcount increases. The goal is to run a streamlined, automated compliance operation that ensures Anchor's safety and facilitates its growth. The role reports to the COO and requires a tech-savvy, analytical, and integrity-driven individual with hands-on AI experience in a compliance context.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in AML, BSA compliance, financial crime operations, fraud investigations, or regulated payments environments (fintech experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing compliance processes such as KYB/KYC onboarding, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and case investigations, with a focus on using AI tools for efficiency.
  • Proven ability to make independent, risk-based decisions and apply sound judgment in ambiguous or time-sensitive situations.
  • Strong written communication skills with experience drafting regulatory-grade case narratives, decision rationales, and operational documentation.
  • Compliance documentation experience, including maintaining and updating BSA/AML program docs, risk assessments, and internal control documentation.
  • Hands-on AI experience in a compliance or operational context, with the ability to detail tools used, automated workflows, and measurable impact.
  • Experience with ACH payment systems, payments infrastructure, or SaaS billing platforms (preferred but not required).
  • Personal attributes: analytical, structured, dependable, proactive, and integrity-driven; able to challenge assumptions, improve processes, and operate with both autonomy and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead KYB/KYC and CIP onboarding workflows, including identity verification, OFAC screening, sanctions analysis, and EIN/TIN validation, utilizing AI-assisted review queues.
  • Serve as the primary client-facing compliance contact, guiding clients through onboarding, conducting verification calls, and making risk-based decisions, including EDD/PEP reviews.
  • Conduct and document alert investigations across fraud, AML, sanctions, and financial crime indicators, using AI tooling to accelerate triage.
  • Assess and document case findings clearly and consistently, aligning with audit expectations and regulatory documentation standards.
  • Use AI-powered analytics to optimize monitoring rules, improve control effectiveness, and identify emerging risk vectors.
  • Develop and maintain compliance documentation, such as playbooks and case files, using AI to ensure they are current and audit-ready.
  • Act as a partner to internal and external auditors.
  • Maintain and update compliance documentation and policy materials, including BSA/AML program documents, risk assessments, and internal policies.
  • Support banking partner and sponsor bank relationships by preparing compliance documentation, responding to audit requests, and coordinating due diligence reviews.
  • Monitor regulatory changes in payments and fintech and flag necessary operational or documentation updates.
  • Use AI to monitor regulatory developments and maintain a living compliance roadmap.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally and with Product and R&D teams to integrate compliance safeguards into new product features.
