About The Position

Compliance and Insurance Specialist needed in Valley View's Compliance department! This is a full-time, day-shift position. The role supports the design, development, analysis, and continuous improvement of the Compliance, Contracts, and Insurance programs at Valley View. It involves supporting, building, delivering, and maintaining training and educational programs for employees on compliance, insurance, and contracts. The specialist will compile and analyze internal and external information to prepare compliance, insurance, contract, and state-required data and reports. They will also review policies and procedures under the Compliance department and related operational areas. This role serves as the primary operational point of contact for Contract Management and Insurance programs and supports the Director of Compliance & Risk in coordination and communication of compliance-related matters. Additionally, the specialist assists the Director of Compliance & Risk in reviewing and maintaining annual and as-needed budget notes, documentation, and supporting materials for Compliance, Insurance, and Contract-related activities. Staying current on industry standards, new legislation, regulatory requirements, state licensing obligations, and insurance-related rules is crucial, achieved through continuing education, reviewing professional publications, engaging with peers, and joining relevant professional groups, with timely updates provided to the Director of Compliance & Risk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2 plus (2+) years’ experience in related healthcare field
  • CHC or CHPC certification preferred, or ability to obtain certification within 18 months of employment.
  • Preferred experience in federal or state regulatory or managed care compliance
  • Clinical experience in the healthcare industry is strongly desired, preferably Registered Nurse.
  • Thorough working knowledge of computer applications: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • High integrity, ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and with others
  • Excellent judgment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
  • Willingness to learn to read, analyze, and interpret government regulations and legal documents.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to write clear, concise reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from employees and medical staff as necessary.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adjust to changes in Valley View’s policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Supports the design, development, analysis, and continuous improvement of the Compliance, Contracts, and Insurance programs at Valley View.
