Completions Engineer

CSI Recruiting•Oklahoma City, OK

About The Position

The company is seeking an experienced Completions Engineer to own completion design, execution, and post-job evaluation for horizontal wells. The role focuses on safely delivering strong well performance at competitive cost, particularly in high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) environments. The engineer will design completions for long-lateral wells, make real-time operational decisions in the field, and work closely with drilling, production, reservoir, geology, and operations teams. The position also involves selecting and qualifying HPHT-rated equipment, maintaining casing and wellbore integrity during stimulation, managing service providers and costs, and using completion and production data to improve future designs. The company describes a growing, entrepreneurial culture centered on collaboration, integrity, safety, and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 8 years of completions engineering experience, including significant hands-on experience in HPHT unconventional wells.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and executing multi-stage hydraulic fracturing in long-lateral horizontal wells.
  • Strong operational background, including field supervision of frac, wireline, coiled tubing, and drill-out operations.
  • Working knowledge of casing design, tubular stress analysis, and HPHT wellhead and pressure control equipment.
  • Comfort working with big data and machine learning tools to analyze completion performance and inform design decisions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a small-team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to field locations as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Haynesville or other deep gas completion experience.
  • Experience with simul-frac, e-frac, and other efficiency-driven completion techniques.
  • Experience with refracs, offset frac-hit mitigation, and parent-child well interaction.
  • Familiarity with Louisiana and Texas regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design completions for long-lateral HPHT wells.
  • Lead frac, wireline, coiled tubing, and drill-out operations in the field.
  • Select and qualify HPHT-rated equipment and materials.
  • Ensure casing and wellbore integrity during stimulation.
  • Develop AFEs, procedures, and job programs, and manage costs against budget.
  • Manage service providers and vendor performance.
  • Analyze completion and production data to optimize future designs.
  • Promote a strong HSE culture and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with geology, reservoir, drilling, and production teams.
