About The Position

The C++ Language team at Apple is seeking an intern to help advance Swift/C++ interoperability, supporting Apple’s effort to migrate more software from C++ to Swift. The role offers the opportunity to learn about and make changes to the Swift compiler, with most work taking place in the open source. The intern will contribute to the evolution and development of Swift/C++ interoperability, a Swift compiler capability that enables C++ and Swift to be used within a single codebase. The work includes developing features intended to improve memory safety, performance, and the ergonomics of language interoperation. The intern will learn about compiler internals and apply that knowledge to a shipping compiler with a large user base, while working with and contributing to the Swift open source community. A supportive, close-knit team provides technical guidance, software architectural review, and mentorship. The position is based onsite at Apple’s campus in London.
