About The Position

Fireworks is seeking its first dedicated Compensation Partner to translate the company's compensation philosophy into practice. This role will be responsible for building the systems and processes to manage compensation decisions, including market research, review cycles, and data management. The Compensation Partner will also collaborate with Finance on equity frameworks and serve as the go-to expert for HRBPs and leaders on compensation-related questions. The position involves owning job architecture, salary bands, compensation data, analysis, systems, and the compensation review program. Additionally, the role will contribute to benefits strategy and partner with Finance on equity compensation design.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of progressive compensation experience.
  • Experience maintaining and evolving comp programs (bands, review cycles, market benchmarking) in a fast-growing company.
  • Direct experience with equity compensation (options, RSUs, or similar).
  • Comfort partnering with Finance on equity framework design.
  • Strong analytical foundation: comfortable with market data, compensation modeling, and translating data into clear recommendations.
  • Hands-on, do-er mindset; comfortable owning processes and details.
  • Experience partnering with HRBPs, Finance, and People Ops as equal stakeholders.
  • Excellent written communication skills, able to explain compensation mechanics clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with relevant compensation systems and survey data sources (e.g., Workday, Radford, Pave, Carta Total Comp).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with sales/GTM compensation plan design.
  • Experience carrying a benefits program through international or multi-geography expansion.
  • Experience owning or heavily involved in benefits strategy (not just administration).
  • Experience building a compensation review cycle in tandem with a performance management program.

Responsibilities

  • Translate compensation philosophy into clear strategy and practice, including guardrails, bands, and decision frameworks.
  • Ensure real-world pay practices align with the compensation philosophy and correct any drift.
  • Maintain competitive and agile compensation posture, responding to market shifts.
  • Own and maintain compensation bands, keeping them current with roles, levels, and market changes.
  • Conduct ongoing market research and benchmarking to ensure band competitiveness.
  • Proactively recommend band adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate compensation data and serve as the source of truth for Finance, People Ops, and HRBPs.
  • Own compensation system implementation and administration, ensuring scalability.
  • Generate clear analysis and recommendations for leadership based on compensation data (pay equity, competitiveness, spend trends).
  • Design and own the end-to-end compensation review cycle, including timing, guardrails, manager tools, and calibration.
  • Partner with HRBPs to roll out the compensation review program and adapt it to specific functions.
  • Develop manager-facing tools and guidance for consistent and defensible pay decisions.
  • Own the strategic direction of the benefits program across geographies, including offerings, evolution, and competitiveness.
  • Partner with People Ops on benefits strategy and execution.
  • Evolve the benefits framework for new locations or headcount milestones.
  • Partner closely with Finance on equity compensation design (options, RSUs, etc.).
  • Support equity-related modeling, guidelines, and decision-making.
  • Ensure equity practices align with the overall compensation philosophy.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on pay decisions, offer approvals, and job evaluations.
  • Educate and enable HRBPs and managers on compensation decisions and frameworks.
