About The Position

This internship will be summer only with the possibility of extension to continue working when college/university is back in session if workload and capabilities support this. The Compensation COE Intern supports the Compensation Center of Expertise by assisting with research, data analysis, and project-based work related to compensation practices, policies, and market trends. This internship provides hands-on exposure to healthcare compensation in a large, mission-driven organization, with a strong focus on external market research, internal analysis, and translating insights into actionable recommendations. Through this internship, the Compensation COE Intern will: Gain exposure to compensation strategy and governance within a large healthcare system. Develop practical skills in market research, data analysis, and insight generation. Learn how compensation decisions support workforce commitment and organizational strategy. Build professional experience working within a Center of Expertise model.

Requirements

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a college or university program with a focus in Human Resources, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics or another related quantitative discipline
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to work with confidential information
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or prior experience in compensation, total rewards, human resources, or data analysis
  • Experience synthesizing research findings into summaries or presentations

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on external compensation practices, trends, and emerging issues relevant to healthcare and broader labor markets
  • Compile research findings into clear summaries, dashboards, or presentation materials for the Compensation COE
  • Support basic compensation data analysis projects
  • Assist in maintaining and validating compensation-related datasets and documentation
  • Collaborate with Compensation COE team members on short- and long-term projects tied to compensation strategy, policy review, and program design
  • Assist with documentation of compensation principles, processes, and workflows
  • Organize electronic files and reference materials related to compensation research
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas, questions, and insights
  • Support additional Total Rewards or Human Resources initiatives as appropriate to learning goals and team needs
