About The Position

Professional managerial and specialist in the area of compensation, benefits, and payroll who contributes to the company by working closely with the Director of Human Resources and senior management (CEO and Compensation Committee) to manage the organization's total rewards. This includes managing compensation, benefits, incentives, and wellness strategies, as well as managing labor licenses and direct payroll aspects. All of the above is focused on attracting, motivating, and retaining the company's talent, ensuring financial sustainability and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance with specialization in the aforementioned areas.
  • Preferably advanced degrees in Human Resources, MBA and/or certifications such as (SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional) and/or CCBP (Certified Compensation and Benefits Professional) certification.
  • 5-10+ years of practical experience in compensation and benefits areas, as well as payroll process and vast knowledge of applicable local or federal regulations.
  • Courses and/or certifications in compensation, benefits, and payroll.
  • Human Resources Information Systems – preferred WD and ADP Smart Compliance.
  • Management of platforms such as external contact websites (Cobra, Triple S, Delta, Fondo, Inspira, Empower).
  • Communication of complex and non-complex financial information to a broad audience.
  • Robust knowledge and understanding of local and federal laws affecting payroll, benefits, and human resources.
  • Practical and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, advanced in Excel.
  • Vast knowledge of Labor Laws.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English – verbal and written.
  • Desirable certification in compensation, payroll, and/or benefits matters. (SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional) and/or CCBP (Certified Compensation and Benefits Professional).
  • Superior analytical and strategic capacity.
  • Practical knowledge of HRIS and MS Office systems - specifically advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the company's compensation matters, including but not limited to developing and managing the company's compensation management strategies; by developing competitive salary structures, working on internal equity plans in accordance with the organization's strategies and observing market trends, balancing internal equity and external competitiveness.
  • The incumbent is the expert in payroll phases, as well as ensuring the execution and monitoring of regulatory compliance and efficiencies through systems such as WD (Workday) and ADP Smart Compliance.
  • Audits and manages the payroll process in accordance with policies, federal and state laws, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees.
  • Comply with all local and federal governmental regulatory compliance requirements for required and relevant quarterly and annual reports. This covers all payroll reports, quarterly and annual tax filings, e.g., SINOT quarterly, local and federal Unemployment, Driver's Insurance, tax filings, etc. Processes annual regulatory matters such as the issuance of W2s, social security, among others.
  • Management of the company's labor licensing program, in full compliance with local and federal regulations; including and not limited to local and Federal OSHA Annual Reports (ITA).
  • Manages the HR budget and allocates funds along with expense justification for accounts assigned to Human Resources and identifies trends, as well as is responsible for compiling monthly reserve data for salary and benefits accounts.
  • Responsible for presenting absenteeism statistics and monitoring them to present them to HRIS for corresponding action, as well as working on everything related to monitoring vacations, reserves, and payroll trends in their parts, including but not limited to annual statutory renewals (e.g., SUI, FUTA, SINOT, FONDO, etc.) and the filing of quarterly and annual tax returns through company processes.
  • Manages employee benefits in full compliance with local and federal regulations. For example, Savings Plan (401K), ERISA compliance.
  • Audits and provides guidance to employees on company benefits.
  • Participates in the 401k Plan Committee - participates in quarterly reviews of the company's Savings and Investment Plan (401K), processes Discrimination tests, the True-up Plan, as well as leads annual plan audits, up to ensuring compliance with the 5500 and the relevant SAR communication to employees.
  • Coordinates and submits the 5500 for the Benefits Plan and the corresponding SAR.
  • Participates in quarterly Medical Plan reviews, and benefit contract renewals, as well as managing the Annual Enrollment Process.
  • Manages the Wellness Program in conjunction with the Medical Plan and Fulcro, focusing on developing annual activities for employees.
  • Leader of community programs (e.g., Back to School, Annual Health Awareness Campaign, Activity for the Elderly).
  • Other important tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the position: Back-up for the Payroll process in Workday.
