About The Position

We operate manufacturing facilities in the US, Canada, Germany, China, and Australia, with a team of over 900 employees. We are seeking a Compensation Analyst with 3–5 years of experience to join our team on a 12-18 month contract basis. This role will support Smardt's Total Rewards function by analyzing market data, maintaining pay structures, and ensuring competitive and compliant compensation practices. In addition to supporting core compensation activities, the Compensation Analyst will play a key role in building a comprehensive Job and Career Architecture to enhance clarity, consistency, and transparency across roles and career paths. This initiative includes documenting job descriptions, organizing workflows, and implementing Salary.com’s Job Architect platform to streamline processes and communication.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in compensation or total rewards.
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills; experience with HRIS systems and Salary.com tools (or similar survey management systems) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of compensation practices and legislation.
  • Experience working with salary surveys and market benchmarking.
  • Experience working on building new compensation programs.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication and documentation skills.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining compensation structures and pay ranges.
  • Document and organize job descriptions, ensuring alignment with career architecture standards.
  • Map job families, levels, and career paths for clarity and consistency.
  • Support workflow setup and configuration on Salary.com Job Architect platform.
  • Create documentation and communication materials for internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with HR and business leaders to validate job data and maintain accuracy.
  • Help with data audits, reporting, and version control for job-related content.
  • Participate in related activities to ensure successful implementation and adoption.
