About The Position
At Gibbons Whistler, we operate multiple hotels, restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues across Whistler, each requiring consistent upkeep to maintain a polished, guest-ready environment. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Company Painter to join our Facilities & Maintenance team. You will be responsible for maintaining interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring every space reflects our brand standards and creates a welcoming atmosphere. This is a skilled Painter & Maintenance Technician role to help keep our hotels, restaurants, bars, and event spaces looking incredible. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working independently and as part of a team, and wants to contribute to creating spaces that wow both guests and staff. From detailed touch-ups to large-scale painting projects, you will play a key role in maintaining the look and feel of some of Whistler’s most iconic venues.
Requirements
- Professional painting experience (commercial, residential, or hospitality)
- Strong drywall repair skills
- Solid knowledge of paints, primers, and surface prep
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Comfort working across various job sites
Nice To Haves
- Experience with stains, varnishes, and specialty finishes
- Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Perform routine painting, patching, and finishing in multiple venues
- Complete drywall repairs (patching, mudding, taping, sanding)
- Apply stain and clear-coat finishes to wood surfaces
- Prepare surfaces through cleaning, sanding, priming, and masking
- Maintain paint inventory and equipment
- Work with the maintenance team to prioritize tasks and projects
- Ensure all finishes meet hospitality-grade standards
- Work safely and professionally in active, high-traffic environments
