About The Position

Freedom Village Bradenton is hiring a Companion for its Private Duty Program, supporting seniors in a welcoming, home-like community. The role offers short shifts and flexible scheduling, with Home Health Aide on-the-job training available and the possibility of promotion to Home Health Aide. Companions work at one consistent location rather than traveling between clients and help residents with errands, shopping, light housekeeping, home organization, transportation, and pet care. The position also includes meeting clients’ safety needs, using equipment safely, following care procedures, and documenting services provided. Compensation starts at $15.25.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Be able to read and follow written instructions and document services provided.
Be patient, kind, and enthusiastic.
Be self-directed and able to work with little direct supervision.
Hold current CPR certification or be willing to obtain it upon hire; training is provided if needed.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with shopping and errands.
Provide light housekeeping, including laundry, ironing, and dusting.
Assist with home organization.
Provide transportation assistance.
Meet clients’ safety needs and use equipment safely and properly.
Follow care procedures and accurately document client services.
Assist with pet care.
