About The Position
Touching Hearts at Home provides in-home companion care to older adults and people living with disabilities or medical conditions, helping them live at home while preserving their dignity and independence. Companion Caregivers provide empathetic, high-quality assistance according to each client's plan of care. Duties include companionship, support with daily living tasks, transportation, meal preparation, light housekeeping, standby personal hygiene assistance, and overnight safety assistance. No healthcare certification or prior experience is required; training is provided.
Requirements
- A compassionate heart for older adults, excellent customer service skills, and creative problem-solving ability, demonstrated in personal and professional life.
- Valid driver's license in the state of application.
- Reliable, insured vehicle available for use on the client's behalf during all scheduled shifts, and ability to travel 15 miles for scheduled shifts.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
- Daily access to email, the Internet, and a mobile phone.
- Must pass criminal background and driving record checks.
Responsibilities
- Provide social companionship, reminders, and support with a variety of daily living tasks.
- Provide transportation and companionship to appointments, errands, and social outings.
- Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation.
- Provide standby assistance with personal hygiene.
- Provide overnight safety assistance.
