About The Position

Visiting Angels of Boerne is hiring a Companion Caregiver to serve senior adults and home-care clients throughout the Hill Country, including San Antonio, Kerrville, Ingram, Bandera, and Fredericksburg. Caregivers help clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity, providing companionship and support tailored to each client's needs. The role may involve responding promptly to medical emergencies and reporting health changes or unusual circumstances. Shifts offered include full-time, part-time, PRN, short shifts, and 8-, 10-, 12-, and 24+-hour shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Must pass a background check and drug screen.
A heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Manage light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the right times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on client ability.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, visiting the doctor, and taking walks.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.
