About The Position

Visiting Angels of Wichita Falls is hiring a Companion Caregiver to support senior adults and other home-care clients in the local area, including Bowie, Jacksboro, Henrietta, Petrolia, and Montague. Caregivers help clients remain or recover at home with dignity, providing companionship and assistance tailored to each client’s needs and abilities. The role requires readiness to respond to medical emergencies and to report health changes or unusual circumstances.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
A heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the home, attending doctor visits, and taking walks.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.
