About The Position

EmmUcare Home Health is seeking compassionate, dependable, and professional companion caregivers to support seniors and individuals with disabilities in their homes. This is a non-certified position focused on non-skilled companionship, homemaking, supervision, and non-hands-on assistance. Applicants do not need an active New Jersey CHHA certification for this position. This position does not include hands-on personal care or duties requiring New Jersey CHHA certification. Companion caregivers may not independently provide bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, transfers, medication assistance, or other health-related services. If a client requires these services, EmmUcare will assign an appropriately certified caregiver.

Requirements

No CHHA certification required.
Compassionate, respectful, and dependable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow written instructions and service plans.
Ability to complete documentation accurately.
Willingness to complete all required employment screenings and training.

Nice To Haves

Previous caregiving, companion, or homemaking experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide companionship and friendly conversation.
Offer general supervision and safety awareness.
Prepare meals and snacks.
Perform light housekeeping and household organization.
Complete laundry and change bed linens.
Assist with grocery shopping and approved errands.
Accompany clients to appointments or community activities when authorized.
Encourage participation in hobbies and social activities.
Provide reminders for appointments and daily routines.
Complete required visit documentation accurately and on time.
Report concerns or changes in the client’s condition to the appropriate supervisor.
Follow the client’s service plan and all agency policies.
