About The Position

This role involves providing community support services to individuals receiving treatment for mental health disorders and/or co-occurring disorders. The primary functions include conducting activities to promote independent living in community-integrated housing and ensuring successful community living through skill training, cueing, or supervision as outlined in the recipient's treatment plan. Specific duties may involve medication monitoring, teaching essential life skills such as parenting, community resource access, emotional regulation, coping skills, shopping, transportation, and financial management, as well as developing interpersonal skills. The position requires meeting the requirements for comprehensive community support services established in 908 KAR 2:250.

Requirements

  • High School/GED
  • One (1) year full-time experience working with individuals who receive services for treatment of a Mental Health Disorder and/or co-occurring disorder
  • MUST COMPLETE WITHIN SIX (6) MONTHS OF HIRE THE DEPARTMENT-LED OR APPROVED TRAINING PROGRAM

Responsibilities

  • Conduct activities necessary to allow an individual to live with maximum independence in community-integrated housing
  • Ensure successful community living through the utilization of skill training, cueing, or supervision as identified in the recipient’s treatment plan
  • Remind a recipient to take medications and monitor symptoms and side effects of medications
  • Teach parenting skills
  • Teach community resource access and utilization
  • Teach emotional regulation skills
  • Teach coping skills
  • Teach how to shop
  • Teach about transportation
  • Teach financial management
  • Develop and enhance interpersonal skills
  • Meet the requirements for comprehensive community support services established in 908 KAR 2:250
