About The Position

The Office of Student Conduct at the University of Oklahoma is seeking a Community Standards Specialist to serve as the primary case manager for assigned student conduct cases. This role provides coordinated support throughout the student conduct process, managing cases from initial report to final resolution. The position balances student advocacy, educational intervention, institutional accountability, and community standards. The Specialist will partner with students, faculty/staff, and campus stakeholders to facilitate equitable resolution processes, promote student learning and behavioral change, and connect students with appropriate campus resources to foster personal responsibility, community engagement, and student success.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree.
12 months in student programming, student services, or closely related experience.
Exceptional ability to engage with diverse stakeholders including students, faculty, staff, parents, media and community partners.
Skilled in managing multiple priorities, workflows, and deadlines effectively.
Strong analytical skills for synthesizing complex information including State and Federal regulations and resolving sensitive issues including issues of complex and extreme political sensitivity.
Ability to inspire, teach, and influence others; adept at conflict mediation and team supervision.
Committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive campus environment; strong initiative to solve problems.
Understanding of campus climate and diversity.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; experienced in metrics, assessment, and reporting.
Familiarity with student conduct, conflict resolution, restorative justice, and fraternity/sorority systems.
Skilled in interpreting policies and regulations; ensures adherence to state and federal guidelines.
Ability to build cross-campus relationships and work effectively with interdepartmental teams; demonstrated administrative and political acumen.

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree in higher education administration or its equivalence (Human Relations, Student Affairs, Educational Leadership, Conflict Resolution, etc.)
Familiarity with electronic student conduct information management systems; Maxient preferred.
Thorough knowledge of Student Affairs, Student Conduct, Student Life, and Residence Life

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary case manager for an assigned caseload of individual and organizational misconduct cases.
Determine appropriate resolution pathways and facilitate educational conferences.
Draft communication through all steps of the case lifecycle.
Assign educational sanctions and document case files.
Work closely with students, faculty/staff, and stakeholders in the resolution of Code violations.
Develop investigation plans, interview parties/witnesses, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports.
Catalog necessary data in Maxient.
Provide developmental support and resource navigation throughout the student conduct process, including an overview of students’ rights and responsibilities.
Assist students in understanding university policies.
Identify barriers to student success and connect students with appropriate campus resources.
Encourage student reflection and responsible decision-making.
Develop collaborative relationships that support integrated student care with assigned functional areas within the campus community.
Facilitate educational opportunities that promote learning and reduce repeat misconduct.
Develop individualized educational outcomes.
Facilitate restorative conversations and educational meetings.
Promote accountability through reflective learning and encourage development.
Support organizational culture change initiatives.
Evaluate educational effectiveness.
Monitor resolution pathways with sanction completion and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Maintain accurate assessment data.
Identify trends in student behavior.
Assist with institutional reporting.
Support annual office assessment initiatives.
Support departmental initiatives and professional development.
Serve on university committees.
Assist with staff training.
Participate in policy review.
