Community Services - Special Project Coordinator

The role will provide general support to various services in the Community and Services setting of a Ministry Unit as well as take a lead in developing and launching Special Projects as assigned. Requirements
- Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
- Work in compliance with Health and Safety Act regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
- One to two years’ relevant experience.
- Knowledge and skill in social media platforms and management.
- Experience in event planning.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in the handling of donor, volunteer, and organizational information.
- Creative and flexible with the ability to adapt based on team, program, and service needs.
- Represent the organization in a positive, professional, and engaging manner.
- Exhibit good listening and people skills, have strong oral/written communication skills.
- Both a vulnerable sector search and criminal record check are required for this role.

Responsibilities
- Seasonal Projects such as Back-to-School Drive, Camp Courage, Summer Camps, Bridgewater Campus Project, etc.
- Work in a team setting supporting various tasks and activities.
- Provide general assistance during public relations events and regular campaigns.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all matters pertaining to the program participants.
- Adhere to policies and procedures relating to the programs.
- May chaperone the students as the driver does drop offs and pick ups of the students for various programs.
- May assist with different basic administrative tasks – photocopy activities, greeting visitors, supporting reception, forwarding visitors, etc., as required.
- May keep a log of different activities.
- Assists in the organization, maintenance, and general cleanliness of work areas.
- Assist with the Ministry Unit/facility general clean up and set up different activities.
- Provide general information to visitors.
- Collaborate with Community Ministries Director to ensure effective program delivery (e.g., café, markets, workshops).
- Build partnerships with local businesses and individuals to support ongoing and future program needs.
- Perform other related work-duties as assigned.
