About The Position

Work in collaboration with the Managing Director of Community Support Services to provide coordination of the Common Ground front desk and oversee the three individual Shelters, Turning Point, Shadows and Roland’s house.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of high-level project or program experience, preferably in a non-profit or government office or program setting.
  • Familiarity with housing, homelessness or equivalent social services issues and public policy research.
  • Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and database entry; high level of Excel, Access and Outlook proficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy work environment.
  • Ability to creatively solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Must be able to take initiative, prioritize, and complete a large volume of detail-oriented tasks quickly and accurately.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
  • A successful background check is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and training for the Common Ground Resource Center (CGRC) front desk staff and the managers of the three single adult shelters.
  • Ensure procedures and rules are up to date for the shelters. Work closely with the director of Community Support Services to look at the day-to-day operation.
  • Review and monitor the collection of data.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and coverage for the front desk. Work with a team to ensure the front desk procedure and aesthetic is engaging and welcoming.
  • Participate in the managers meeting, and morning triage meetings.
  • Participate in the front desk, MOD and task force meetings.
  • Ensure that the front desk is always equipped with First Aid and Narcan supplies.
  • Provide back up to the MOD coverage.
  • Ensure strong collaboration and communication among other managers and Mangers of the Day to provide a safe environment.
  • Work with the Special Project Manager to create a monthly data monitoring dashboard for Common Ground to capture important data that is integral to the everyday operations of the CGRC.
  • Review the data entry related to CGRC on a regular basis to monitor timeliness and accuracy. Provide feedback to staff as needed to ensure and maintain excellent data quality.
  • Work as the centralized point person for the congregate and residential programs around relief staff.
  • Schedule and facilitate CPR and boundary trainings. Identify and coordinate other training opportunities.
  • Engage all clients by understanding and addressing their needs whether within or outside the scope of work.
  • Attend & participate in team meetings as requested and communicate effectively with clients and staff in other areas.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client, employee and agency information in accordance with federal and state laws and funder requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with program/department, agency and/or funder requirements, as well as, SMOC policies & procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
