Community Engagement Manager
About The Position
Michael & Son is seeking a Community Engagement Manager to strengthen its community presence. This role involves developing and executing initiatives to grow and strengthen community relationships, both locally and online. The Community Engagement Manager will work closely with the social media team to highlight and amplify these efforts. Michael & Son is the Mid-Atlantic's largest family-owned home services company, serving communities since 1976, with the Michael & Son Cares Foundation dedicated to charitable initiatives, local partnerships, and community support programs.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in community engagement, nonprofit work, or a related field
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to connect across diverse groups
- Proven organizational and project management abilities, especially in event planning
- A proactive, positive mindset with a genuine passion for community impact
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute initiatives that grow and strengthen community relationships, increasing engagement both locally and online.
- Lead the planning and coordination of community events, volunteer efforts, and outreach programs that align with our mission.
- Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, nonprofits, and community leaders.
- Partner closely with the social media team to capture, showcase, and promote community initiatives, ensuring our impact is visible and engaging across platforms.
- Actively engage with our audience online and in person-responding to messages, comments, and feedback while fostering a positive and authentic community presence.
