About The Position

Operation Kindness Humane Society is seeking a Community Resources Coordinator to join their team. Operation Kindness is a pioneer in Texas for assisting animals in need of veterinary care, companionship, and most of all, a home. The Community Resources Coordinator will be a crucial role in assisting the Community Initiatives department with continuing to assist the community and their pets by providing accessible low-cost vaccines, microchips, pet food, spay/neuter information, and connecting the public with needed resources.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 1 year customer service experience
Must be qualified and licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the state of Texas.
Microsoft Office experience
Must have Valid Texas driver’s license.
Applicant must be interested in the animal welfare population and serving low-income and underserved communities while being empathetic and non-judgmental.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Community outreach experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Help coordinate scheduled events for monthly calendar.
Gather and load supplies from Lifesaving Partnership Hub.
Assist day of event with set up and break down.
During event, assist with various tasks to ensure event is running effectively, which may include: Handing out check-in forms to pet owners in line, answering questions regarding services and prices, line control, etc.
Double-checking client paperwork to ensure proper information has been filled out for accurate medical records keeping.
Assist with check-out process and payment processing, ensuring pet owners received needed documentation, prevention medication, Rabies and vaccine information, and other pertinent information to the specific event.
Unload and organize supplies at the Lifesaving Partnership Hub.
Keep track of inventory (vaccines, forms, flea/tick, heartworm prevention, medical supplies, etc.).
Assist with promoting pet food pantry days.
Day of event, assist clients: Check-in clients and verify application is on file or assist with handing out forms to pet owners in line
Answering questions regarding additional services pet owner may need, line control, etc.
Provide pet owners with available pet food and help load into vehicle, if needed.
Enter data into Petpoint for inventory tracking.
Assist with receiving, storing and keeping track of inventory at both locations (Operation Kindness main shelter in Carrollton, Lifesaving Partnership Hub in Dallas.).
Partner with local organizations and shelters to promote TNR resources and events locally.
Help gather supplies and clean/prep traps.
Assist clients with filling out forms and ensuring proper information has been filled out for accurate medical records keeping.
Loading/unloading traps from vehicles.
Connect with local organizations and business and attend other events to promote Operation Kindness services/events.
Answer emails from clients with questions while providing good customer service.
Work alongside volunteers and other departments to ensure a positive and kind working environment.
Door-to-door outreach with Manager of Community Resources and other animal organizations.
Maintain storage areas neat and clean from clutter and debris.
Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
Reports suspicion of animal abuse or neglect to any Manager or above immediately.
Reports any unsafe working conditions to any Manager or above immediately.
Maintains client, donor, volunteer, and staff confidentiality at all times.
Follows SOPs and other safety regulations at all times.
Completes all necessary and requested training in a timely manner in accordance with shelter policy.
Attends staff meetings.
Participates in shelter events as requested by Manager.
