About The Position

The Community Research Specialist position is a full-time, one-year position with the possibility of renewal based on continued funding and job performance. Under the supervision of the PI, the Community Research Specialist will support a range of funded UML Center for Population Health (UML-CPH) community-engaged projects, with additional projects as funding evolves. The Community Research Specialist will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with community partners; coordinating project meetings; supporting community engagement activities; conducting study recruitment and data collection; assisting with data cleaning, management, and analysis; providing administrative and programmatic support; contributing to report writing and dissemination of findings; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in public health, psychology, sociology or related field
  • 1+ year of program management experience, which may include time while getting Master’s degree.
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish fluency
  • Excellent communication skills; including written, oral, presentation, and facilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations to support planning and implementation of UML-CPH activities.
  • Represent UML-CPH at community-based events; engage prospective participants, provide study information, and respond to questions in English and Spanish.
  • Conduct study eligibility screenings in accordance with approved protocols in English and Spanish.
  • Facilitate focus groups, conduct one-on-one interviews, and complete baseline and follow-up assessments across multiple projects in English and Spanish, ensuring adherence to study protocols, confidentiality standards, and human subjects protections.
  • Coordinate and oversee data collection staff across multiple projects.
  • Enter, manage, and maintain study data in REDCap and related databases, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and data integrity.
  • Support data cleaning and quality assurance procedures in collaboration with research teams.
  • Attend project meetings, as appropriate, and perform other related duties across multiple projects.
  • Assist with drafting reports and presentations on findings and dissemination to stakeholders and community members.
  • Additional duties related to projects may be required such as coordinating project team meetings and organizations of project files.
