About The Position

The Community Relations Representative II is a field-based role primarily operating in the Greater Toledo area and surrounding counties in Ohio. This role focuses on developing and maintaining Medicaid-plan generated community relations activities, establishing new contacts and partnerships, and growing membership through education and outreach to the Medicaid population. The representative will act as a liaison with community advocacy groups, identify cultural issues, coordinate volunteer activities, respond to funding requests, and conduct marketing and educational events. This position requires a valid driver's license, access to a vehicle, and may require an insurance license depending on the state. The role demands flexibility in working hours, including non-standard hours and weekends, to meet community needs and participate in events.

Requirements

Requires a HS diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare or sales/marketing environment; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle with valid motor vehicle insurance required.
Insurance license may be required dependent on state.

Knowledge about provider network that supports the delivery area, knowledge of plan and/or competitors value added benefits preferred.
State health insurance licensure preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse populations and build strong relationships with community leaders preferred.
Experience in community outreach or with community health workers preferred.
Organizational and Project Management Skills preferred.
Experience with all Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, SharePoint preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists with establishing and maintaining positive relationships with community organizations, provider offices, and faith-based organizations; performs activities to enhance presence in the community.
Responsible for growing membership through educating and servicing the Medicaid population, including meeting the communities need for ongoing educational and social service outreach to existing and potential members.
Leads and manages strategies within a specific territory or business initiative.
Acts as liaison with community advocacy groups that impacts target population.
Identifies, develops and builds relationships with community organizations, provider offices, and faith based organizations; performs activities to enhance presence in the community.
Assists members and potential members with benefit and/or enrollments inquiries.
Identifies cultural issues regarding current and potential members and communicate issues to management.
Coordinates volunteer activities by planning, organizing and providing volunteer management for events.
Responds to requests for funding.
Conducts marketing activities, events, exhibits, education, and presentations in an effort to educate members and maintain and/or establish relationships with providers, community, and faith-based organizations.
Tracks all marketing and sales activities and maintains sales database.
Conducts marketing presentations to increase effectiveness in establishing rapport, assessing individual needs, and communicating product/benefit features and differences.
Identifies and enlists the cooperation of individuals, groups, social service agencies and other community organizations in educational and outreach activities.
Tracks utilization of company contributions.
Develops and implements communication plans.
Manages relationships with external constituencies.
Ensures consistent compliance with all state, federal, and company specific requirements.
